At Abilities Centre, sport and recreation are for everyone. Our Sport and Recreation programs in Whitby, Ontario are designed to build physical literacy, foster confidence, and create real opportunities for people of all abilities to be active for life.
Whether you are trying something new for the first time, reconnecting with a sport you love, or working toward your next competitive milestone, there is a program here for you. Every session is inclusive by design, built around the goals and needs of every individual who walks through our doors.

Lacrossing Barriers
A fully inclusive lacrosse program at Abilities Centre designed to make Canada’s national sport accessible to people of all abilities
Para Lacrosse
Para Lacrosse is an adaptive team sport designed for individuals with physical disabilities and mobility impairments.
Wheelchair Basketball (Beginner)
Designed for individuals of all abilities who are ready to try a new sport in a supportive, barrier-free environment
Eagles Basketball (Intermediate)
Intermediate recreational wheelchair basketball program for athletes ready to take the next step in their development.
Wheelchair Rugby
An inclusive, high-energy attack-and-evasion sport,it challenges participants to carry the ball across the opposing team's try line to score
Sportsmania
Sportsmania is a weekly outdoor sport program for children ages 5 to 12. Sports may include soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and more.
Obstacle Course
A weekly new obstacle course for participants to explore, building confidence, movement skills, and problem-solving abilities through active play
HYPE (Healthy Youth Programming for Everyone)
An inclusive, high-energy program where participants connect with friends, stay active, and enjoy themselves in a welcoming environment
