Therapeutic Recreation (TR) at Abilities Centre is designed for youth and adults 14+ with disabilities. TR helps participants acquire and maintain the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to enjoy leisure and participate independently (or with minimal assistance) in their community.
Our Therapeutic Recreation programs in Whitby, Ontario are designed for individuals who want to grow, connect, and thrive in a fully accessible, welcoming community environment. Programs are delivered by trained Therapeutic Recreation Specialists who use a goal-oriented, evidence-based approach to recreation and play, working alongside each participant to support meaningful progress in their own way and at their own pace.
Whether the goal is building social confidence, developing life skills, exploring creativity, or simply finding a community to belong to, Therapeutic Recreation at Abilities Centre meets you where you are and helps you get where you want to go.
