Abilities Centre offers field trip and educational programming for school groups, community organizations, and youth groups across Durham Region. Sessions are available on-site at our Whitby facility and off-site at your school or community location.

Programs include Kin Ball, Parasport (wheelchair basketball and sledge hockey), Boccia Ball, Floor Curl, Lacrosse, and Physical Literacy and Inclusion (PL&I) Workshops for teachers, recreation leaders, and senior students.

For an even deeper experience, schools can add on education sessions -covering topics including accessibility, inclusion, teamwork, or leadership. These add-on sessions (30–60 minutes) provide an engaging classroom-style component and must be booked in addition to the on-court portion of the field trip.

  • Field trip costs are not finalized until booked with Abilities Centre, as costs depend upon size of the group, duration, and location of the field trip.
  • Field trips can be 60 or 90 minutes in length.
