Transit Awareness Training

Transit Awareness Training (T.A.T) is a one-week intensive transit program for individuals aged 15+ designed to build confidence in community and transit navigation.

Through hands-on experiential learning, participants develop practical skills for navigating the community, understanding transit systems, planning routes, and travelling safely. Participants will travel throughout Durham Region in small groups while practicing real-world transit skills including reading schedules, identifying routes and stops, transferring between buses, problem-solving in the community, and using transit safely.

Who is Community Connections for?

Individuals ages 15 and up who identify as having a disability in Durham Region and who want to gain confidence navigating transit and the community.

Program Cost

The cost for this one-week intensive program is $650.00. The training fee includes transit costs during the program.

The new cost is $400.00 with MCCSS funding
