Bringing the benefits of Therapeutic Recreation into school communities across Toronto and Durham Region.

Therapeutic Recreation in Schools (TRIS) is an Abilities Centre program designed in partnership with local and provincial school boards to bring the power of Therapeutic Recreation directly into the classroom.

The purpose of TRIS is to promote inclusion and resilience among young people to improve and sustain their well-being, development, and quality of life. Through creation, movement, and education, TRIS helps students engage meaningfully in school and community settings, building the life skills, social confidence, and coping strategies they need to thrive.

TRIS is currently being delivered across three school boards in Toronto and Durham Region and has reached more than 20 schools and 300 students.
