Your Goals. Your Community. Your Life.

Thrive participants play corn hole on the court.

Thrive is an innovative adult day program at Abilities Centre for individuals ages 18 and up with developmental disabilities. Designed to meet each person where they are and support them toward where they want to go, Thrive provides a strong foundation for young adults as they transition into community life and pursue the goals that matter most to them, whether that is education, employment, independent living, or simply building a life full of connection and purpose.

Thrive is built on the belief that every individual has the potential to grow, contribute, and belong. Our programming reflects that belief in everything we do.

What is Thrive?

Thrive is a flexible, goal-oriented adult day program that combines group programming, individual support, and community-based experiences to help participants develop the skills and confidence they need to live as independently and fully as possible.

Programs are offered across five areas:

  • Arts
  • Life skills
  • Social recreation
  • Sport
  • Fitness

Within each area, participants have real choices. Thrive is designed to meet the needs of every individual, which means no two participants follow exactly the same path. What they do share is access to a welcoming, fully inclusive environment at Abilities Centre in Whitby, Ontario, where growth is always the goal and every step forward is celebrated.

Thrive continues to expand each year, welcoming new participants and introducing new activity options that reflect the evolving interests and goals of the community.
